System Overview
BIOFIRE® FILMARRAY® TORCH is a multiplex PCR system that enables simultaneous testing for bacteria, viruses, yeast, parasites, and/or antimicrobial resistant genes. It is designed to be used with comprehensive panels that each offer testing for sets of pathogens associated with some of today’s most pressing healthcare challenges.
The rapid results offer the information needed to help primary care providers and emergency room physicians to better triage patients and make timely, confident medical decisions.

The user-friendly, multiplex, nested PCR BIOFIRE® FILMARRAY® TORCH system incorporates sample preparation, amplification, detection, and analysis in one pouch. Cybersecurity
BIOFIRE® FILMARRAY® TORCH has been developed and configured to incorporate cybersecurity controls. Cybersecurity controls are applied to the computer operating system, which is delivered pre-configured on the system. Prior to delivery, bioMérieux verifies that the computer is free of malicious software.

The BIOFIRE BCID2 Panel tests for 43 targets associated with bloodstream infections, including Gram-negative bacteria, Gram-positive bacteria, yeast, and 10 antimicrobial resistance genes – all with one test and with results available in about an hour from positive blood culture.
