• Accurate identification at species level (important for determining epidemiology and antibiotic therapy, since the pathogenic potential or antibiotypes of species can vary within the same serological group).
• Ease-of-use and reliable results through the identification of related species, which are sometimes difficult to determine using Gram staining and differentiate from streptococci.
