Carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriacae (CPE) are multi-resistant bacteria sometimes implicated in healthcare-associated infections (HAI)  and even epidemics. Rapid detection of CPE is therefore essential to manage these healthcare challenges through better infection prevention and control, patient care and epidemiological monitoring.
