Our commitment to global health initiatives

The Global Health Department’s missions are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) guidelines, as well as our company strategy and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) mandate.

The Global Health Department is:

  • The single point of contact for international Aid programs and funding organizations
  • Responsible for delivering diagnostic solutions in an ethical and equitable manner
  • In charge of facilitating access to bioMérieux solutions for infectious diseases in low- and middle-income contexts (LMIC’s)

Addressing key challenges with solutions adapted to LMIC contexts

Today’s urgent healthcare threats like sepsis and antimicrobial resistance are global – yet limited infrastructure and access to medical and laboratory solutions create additional barriers to addressing them in low- and middle-income contexts (LMIC’s). With in-depth understanding of LMIC challenges, the Global Health Department leverages bioMérieux’s global organization to deploy relevant and innovative diagnostic solutions and services to international actors in the development Aid fields.

Our role:

  • Reinforce expertise, organizations, infrastructure and processes
  • Provide solutions to ensure program deployment & sustainability
  • Provide diagnostic solutions to better manage patient flow and lab activities

Partnering with private sector, governmental, Multilateral, and non-governmental organizations

Cooperation across private sector, governmental, Multilateral and non-governmental organizations, Turnkey & integrators companies   is key to implementing bioMérieux solutions in LMIC’s. Our experienced, dedicated team understands the roles, constraints and considerations of multiple players in global contexts. Global Health:

  • Work with governments, donors, private sectors leaders and implementing partners
  • Are responsible for identifying and offering tailored diagnostic solutions, training, supplies and services
  • Provide needed support for AMS program deployment and coordination to end user countries

Expert support for Antimicrobial Resistance Programs

 

Curbing the threat of antimicrobial resistance through support of Antimicrobial Resistance Programs has long been a key bioMérieux priority. The Global Health Department offers strategic support to international initiatives:

 

  • A full and comprehensive diagnostic solution offer from manual to fully automated testing
  • Data management solutions to support lab and clinician decisions for national and worldwide surveillance needs
  • Lab consultancy and medical training teams for lab and healthcare professionals, to boost knowledge and improve efficiency
  • Maintenance and supply chain services to ensure sustainability of diagnostic solutions

Support laboratories in strengthening capacity

 

 

Provide support during hospital construction and renovation to ensure laboratory viability and sustainability, specially adapted to local challenges and needs:

 

 

  • Lab consultancy support for lab design and layout to improve lab performances
  • Integrated solutions including middleware
  • Financial study approach to answer project challenges
  • Coordination with local bioMérieux teams and external partners
